Completely new Corrosion Protection System for Boats, Yachts, and Ships
With a pioneering product, which experts consider being epoch-making, the medium sized Ormecon Chemie GmbH & Co. KG is appearing on the "boot 97", the world's largest technical and commercial show for boats and yachts. The subsidiary of Zipperling Kessler & Co. Has - after 15 years of basic and applied research - succeeded in introducing a completely new system which also combats corrosion successfully under the hardest marine conditions.
The product is based on an "Organic Metal" developed by Zipperling, which is able to almost completely prevent the corrosion of iron, steel, aluminum, zinc or other unnoble metals, because it changes their surface properties to become more noble.
If one coats e.g. iron with CORRPASSIV primer, the iron would be oxidised, but not to what is known as "rust". Instead of this, an iron oxide layer is formed between the iron surface and the organic metal primer, which acts as a passivation layer. Rust formation is therefore inhibited.
The CORRPASSIV primer contains "poly-phenylenamine", a purely organic powder in an extremely fine particle size. It can be considered as an "Organic Metal". Ormecon succeeded in dispersing this neither soluble, nor mouldable material, so that a very fine and even distribution results in the primer which is hence enabled to serve as protective primary coating for any metallic part on a boat or yacht (or ship).
A second primer and a top coat are part of the new system. (see practical information leaflet)
Small scratches or other injuries are "self-healing", as the ennobling effect is ranging relatively far (up to 2 mm).
The service life of the coating will be prolonged by a factor of 2 - 5.
"Skipper's CORRPASSIV" will be sold by Schefferling, a trading company well established in the boat and yacht supply market. They have been tested in laboratory and also on the open sea and have shown to be superior compared to well established marine anti-corrosion systems. The are environment-friendly, as they do not contain any poisonous materials, no heavy metals or chromate. And they can be used at a very thin (20 micron) layer thickness.
Orders will be served by Schefferling or directly by Ormecon Chemie (labelling only in German up to now).

Under "CORRPASSIV" trade name, Ormecon Chemie had developed several other primer and coating systems, so for the protection of steel in general, for aluminum, for the use in dip/spin techniques for coating of screws or other small parts, CORREPAIR for consumer use and others.
